Search Engine Optimization is a great strategy to help generate organic leads for your business. By climbing the rankings in your local search results, or ranking for more keywords, you can get more organic traffic to your website and get contacted by more potential customers. SEO pays long term dividends and contributes to the long-term growth of your company. Sounds pretty great right? It can be BUT unfortunately, there are a lot of companies out there that do low quality SEO, or charge you and don’t do a damn thing.

A box will pop up for you to type a command
Enter “seocss”to check on-site SEO – If you would like a more in-depth analysis of your SEO efforts, apply here.
This command will show all of your “tags” in Red and all of your “Links” in green.
1. H1 tags – Make sure you only have one and that it represents the content of your website.
a) Example: If you are a RoofingContractor in Nashville, TN, Your H1 could be something like “Top-rated Roofing Contractor in Nashville, TN”
2. Make sure the keywords you want to focus on are included in your H1, H2 or strong tags
3. H1-H6 tags should be in descending order as you go down your page.

a) H1 towards the top, H6 at the bottom
4. Make sure everything is linked properly
a) Phone numbers – These should include a “tel:” tag which will make the phone number click-to-call
b) Email Addresses – These should also be clickable so that anyone looking to send you an email can do so easily.
c) Physical Address – All of your business addresses should be linked to Google Maps.
5. Privacy and Terms and Conditions
a) By having this on your website (usually in the footer) it will show Google that you are credible and trustworthy
6. Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
a) Look for the lock icon and “https” to the left of your website URL.
(1) This should that your website is safe and secure.
7. www and non-www
a) Do you use www or non-www in front of your website URL? Is this a big deal, no, but you want to make sure you have redirects in place and to stay consistent with whichever version you choose.
